European Works Council Meetings

The European Works Council Directive came into force in 1996, which led to large organisations operating across the European Union needing to establish forums for the purposes of informing and consulting employees. By their very nature, these meetings are multi-lingual and the directive specifically mentions the requirement for simultaneous interpretation to ensure that all participants can understand the proceedings and contribute in their native language.
